Herkimer, NY-- The Herkimer Generals led off the National Championship tournament with a statement as they defeated the #7 Bristol Bayhawks 7-2.  Herkimer took their first goal just three minutes into the game from a break away by #24 Luke Murphy (Glasgow, Scotland).  Luke shot and the ball ricocheted off of the goalie and was finished by #10 Dajhal Kelly (Saint Kitts, Caribbean Sea).  Kelly was just getting warmed up as he put away two more in the first half. These two goals assisted by #23 Gianni Cognata (Cape Coral, FL) and #16 Carlos Beltran (Central Islip, NY).  Luke Murphy was able to find his redemption shot and put one away from an assist by #8 Jordan Saling (Haledon, NJ).  Herkimer finished their first half reign from a fifth goal with just four minutes left from a goal by #12 Will Meyer (Red Creek, NY) assisted by #13 Camilo Avendano (Cape Coral, FL).  The Generals settled into the second half with a comfortable 5-0 lead.  However the Bayhawks refused the shut out as they scored two goals in the second half both by their # 6 Edmilson Andrade. Herkimer's #34 Selmir Muskic (Utica, NY) answered back scoring two himself.  The first assisted by #3 Chris Cornwill (Sunshine Coast, Queensland) and the second earned from a penalty kick.

The Generals now play Friday November 11th 4PM vs #3 Camden Cougars at Wehrum Stadium.
