    HCCC Student Elected to Regional PTK Office; Chapter Recognized
    HCCC’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) received an award at the PTK New York Regional Convention, held in Rochester, March 17-19, for “Most Distinguished Honors in Action.” The research project, “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work,” explored the theme of how the experience of play can serve as a catalyst for epiphanies, innovations, and inventions. The project was led by chapter president Kyle Poulos, Sanborn, NY, and featured the efforts of many active members. Poulos is a sophomore majoring in Criminal Justice, and he also serves as a student trustee on the HCCC Board of Trustees.

    HCCC to Host ‘Haunted’ Author Dennis Webster, Friday, March 31
    HCCC will host local author and paranormal investigator, Dennis Webster, for a presentation on “Haunted Mohawk Valley” at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 31, in the Robert McLaughlin College Center (RMCC 288). The event is free and open to the public.

    HCCC to hold Spring Open House
    HCCC will hold an open house on Saturday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Prospective students and families will have the opportunity to tour the campus, meet faculty and staff, and learn about programs and services. Families will have opportunities to attend a financial aid session and meet with other prospective and current students. Lunch will be provided.

    HCCC will host the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Men’s Basketball National Championship Tournament Wednesday, March 15 through Saturday, March 18. This is the first year HCCC will be hosting the national tournament.
