Students Participate in Marrow Donor RegistryMore than 100 Herkimer College students participated in a ‘Be the Match Marrow Drive’ on Thursday, registering their tissue type with the hopes of becoming a match for individuals in need. Joining forces with the Center for Student Leadership & Involvement, the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1986 and based in Minneapolis, MN that operates the ‘Be The Match Registry’ of volunteer hematopoietic cell donors and umbilical cord blood units in the United States. The initiative is the world's largest hematopoietic cell registry, listing more than 10.5 million individuals and nearly 185,000 cord blood units. Hematopoietic cells from NMDP donors or cord blood units are used to transplant patients with a variety of blood, bone marrow, or immune system disorders.

Scholarship Application for Currently Enrolled Herkimer College StudentsHerkimer College is accepting scholarship applications from currently enrolled students for the 2016-2017 academic year. All currently enrolled students are encouraged to apply regardless of whether they are graduating this year or returning to Herkimer College for the fall semester.
