    HCCC Associate Professor of English Lisa Elwood Farber recently published an article called “Mothering, Mothers and the Historical Representations of Black Motherhood in Fiction: Barbara Chase-Riboud’s Sally Hemings” in the anthology Black Motherhood: Contours, Contexts, and Considerations for Demeter Press edited by Karen T. Craddock.

    HCCC has appointed Jason Palkovic, Utica, NY, as acting head coach for the women’s soccer team for the fall 2016 season.

  • Students Hike Nature Trail After Reading Excerpts from Walden
    HCCC Associate Professor Lisa Elwood’s Great American Writer's class recently read excerpts from Henry David Thoreau's Walden. After a discussion about the readings, the class hiked the Lloyd and Carol Bull Nature Trail on the campus.   • Peer Tutor Club Raising Funds for Children's Holiday Gifts
    The Peer Tutor Club at HCCC recently conducted a campus bake sale to raise funds to support the Club’s projects and activities. The Club has already been successful in setting aside funds to support purchasing gifts for a child through the Gram Lorraine Project this year. The Peer Tutor Club provides students with the opportunity to learn various tutoring strategies with the possibility of serving as an actual tutor.
